About the Project
As a leading digital services provider, Vodafone needed to adapt rapidly to rising customer expectations and evolving market demands. While agile methods were common in parts of the tech organisation, business teams were still operating through traditional structures — leading to slow delivery cycles, low engagement, and limited visibility of work. To meet the pace of change, Vodafone committed to piloting agile ways of working across several business-critical portfolios.
Our Approach
Radically partnered with Vodafone to design and lead an agile pilot across the Mobile Prepay, Postpay, and Broadband teams. From team formation to process design, we built the foundations from the ground up — creating cross-functional squads, implementing agile cadences, and embedding transparency and prioritisation systems. We coached leaders, stakeholders, and delivery teams through the shift — adapting practices sprint by sprint based on real feedback. Along the way, we tackled common friction points such as dependencies with non-agile teams and navigating the role of leadership in enabling team success.
What We Delivered
● Designed and launched an agile pilot with cross-functional teams.
● Implemented agile cadences, backlog management, and planning rhythms.
● Embedded transparency and customer focus into day-to-day operations.
● Coached leadership and teams to own and sustain new ways of working.
● Captured learnings to scale transformation across the wider business.
Impact
● Faster delivery cycles: Teams were able to move from planning to execution more rapidly.
● Increased engagement: Squads reported stronger collaboration, clarity, and momentum.
● Improved customer focus: Teams were empowered to solve real customer problems, faster.
● Foundations for scale: Vodafone gained the capability and confidence to scale agile transformation beyond the pilot.
