AI for Functional Teams

AI for Functional Teams is a tailored, half-day workshop that helps teams identify where AI agents can make the biggest difference to their workflows, and learn how to put them into practice.

Led by our expert trainers, this hands-on course focuses on the work your function does every day. You’ll explore which workflows are best suited to AI agents, learn practical approaches to integrating them into your team’s work, and start building an agent for one of your own workflows.

Overview

Most teams are already using AI for individual tasks, but the bigger opportunities often sit within the workflows they repeat every week.

Identifying where AI agents can add value, and knowing how to integrate them effectively, requires a closer look at how work gets done across a function.

This course takes a practical, function-specific approach. Beginning with a discovery session with your function’s leads, we tailor the workshop to your team’s workflows, priorities and opportunities. Participants learn how to identify suitable workflows, apply best practices for using agents, and start putting what they’ve learned into practice.

The aim is to leave with more than ideas, including a clear set of priorities, a shared approach to using agents and a working example built around your team’s own work.

Who should attend?

This course is designed for functional teams looking to move beyond individual AI use and explore how agents can improve the way work gets done across their function.

It is particularly useful for:

  • Teams looking to improve productivity and efficiency across recurring workflows
  • Functional leaders wanting to identify and prioritise opportunities for AI agents
  • Teams already using AI tools who want to integrate agents into their day-to-day processes
  • Teams wanting hands-on experience building agents using their own work and workflows

Course content

This workshop combines practical guidance with hands-on experience, giving your team the skills to identify, design and start integrating AI agents into their workflows.

  • Understand how your function works today: Examine existing workflows and explore what good practice looks like for your team.
  • Identify opportunities for AI agents: Find and prioritise the workflows where agents are best suited and can deliver the greatest value.
  • Learn best practices for integrating agents: Understand which tasks to delegate to AI, where human oversight is needed and how to check outputs.
  • Get hands-on with AI tools: Use Copilot or Claude on real tasks from your function, comparing approaches and results as a group.
  • Build an agent into a workflow: Apply what you’ve learned to create a simple working agent within one of your team’s existing workflows.
  • Establish a shared approach: Agree on how agents should be used, how outputs are reviewed and who owns each workflow.

What your team will take away

By the end of the workshop, your team will have:

  • A prioritised list of workflows suitable for AI agents, with clear ownership
  • Practical techniques for introducing agents into day-to-day work
  • A working agent within one of your team’s workflows
  • Shared standards for using AI and reviewing its outputs
  • A set of AI practices tailored to your function, focused on improving productivity and efficiency
